Last Updated: January 29, 2026

Welcome to YourOwn, a Financial Identity platform delivered through a secure digital wallet—built to help you organize, understand, and share your financial information so you can move faster in life workflows like tax preparation, renting, lending, and wealth planning.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the YourOwn application, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

IMPORTANT NOTICE — ARBITRATION & CLASS ACTION WAIVER: These Terms contain an arbitration agreement and class action waiver in Section 15 that may affect your rights. Please read it carefully.

1) Who We Are

YourOwn, Inc. (“YourOwn,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Delaware corporation.

Contact: info@yourownwallet.com

2) Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Service.

The Service is intended for users located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

3) What the Service Does (and Does Not Do)
3.1 What YourOwn Does

YourOwn provides tools that allow you to:

  • View and manage financial information you choose to connect or upload;

  • Create a financial identity for your personal use;

  • Authorize sharing of certain information with third parties you choose (like a tax preparer, lender, landlord, or financial advisor); and

  • Track sharing activity where available.

3.2 What YourOwn Does Not Do

YourOwn is not a bank, lender, broker-dealer, investment adviser, insurance company, or tax preparer. We do not:

  • Provide legal, tax, or investment advice;

  • Make credit decisions;

  • Guarantee approvals, pricing, or outcomes from third parties; or

  • Guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party financial data.

FCRA Notice: YourOwn is not a “consumer reporting agency” and does not provide “consumer reports” under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Any third party’s use of information you share is governed by that third party’s policies and applicable laws.

4) Your Account and Security
4.1 Account Registration

To use parts of the Service, you must create an account (“Account”) and provide accurate, current information (such as a valid email address). You agree to keep your Account information up to date.

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials;

  • Using strong passwords and enabling available security features;

  • Securing your device, email, and phone number associated with your Account; and

  • Securing any recovery credentials (including a Seed Phrase, if enabled).

You must notify us promptly if you believe your Account has been compromised or accessed without your permission.

4.3 Recovery and Access

We may offer Account recovery methods (e.g., email- or device-based verification), but we cannot guarantee we can restore access in every situation (including device compromise, loss of access to your email, or unauthorized access).

4.4 Seed Phrase / Recovery Phrase

If the Service provides you with a seed phrase, recovery phrase, or similar recovery key (collectively, a “Seed Phrase”), you understand and agree that:

  1. Your Seed Phrase is extremely sensitive. Anyone with access to your Seed Phrase may be able to access protected information and features associated with your Account.

  2. You are solely responsible for securely storing and protecting your Seed Phrase.

  3. Do not share your Seed Phrase with anyone, including anyone claiming to be YourOwn support, a partner, a lender, a tax professional, or a wallet provider. YourOwn will never ask you for your Seed Phrase.

  4. We do not store your Seed Phrase and cannot retrieve it for you. If you lose your Seed Phrase, you may lose access to certain features, information, or functionality, and we may be unable to restore access.

  5. You assume all risk of loss, theft, compromise, unauthorized use, or disclosure of your Seed Phrase.

  6. When Wallet data is protected by a Seed Phrase, YourOwn generally cannot access the encrypted Wallet vault contents.

5) Connecting Accounts and Data Sources
5.1 Third-Party Data Providers

To help you connect financial accounts and verify certain information, YourOwn works with third-party service providers, including Plaid, Inc. (“Plaid”) and Hoseki (together with other providers, “Third-Party Providers”).

  • When you choose “Link with Plaid,” you are authorizing Plaid and YourOwn to access and transmit information from your selected financial institutions to provide the Service.

  • When you choose crypto verification through Hoseki, you are authorizing Hoseki and YourOwn to access and transmit information about your connected cryptocurrency accounts or wallets to provide verification outputs (such as balances and related verification artifacts, where available).

Your use of Third-Party Providers may be subject to their terms and privacy policies. You should review those terms and policies before connecting accounts or completing verification.

5.2 Data Quality and Availability

The Service may display information from Data Sources that is delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate. Data connections may break or fail. YourOwn does not control Data Sources and does not guarantee:

  • Availability of any Data Source;

  • Continuous access to any specific account connection; or

  • Accuracy or completeness of any retrieved data.

5.3 Additional Disclosures at Time of Connection

When you connect accounts or initiate verification, we may present additional disclosures, permissions, and consent prompts identifying the applicable Third-Party Provider(s). Those disclosures are part of the account connection and verification experience.

6) Authorized Sharing and Your Controls
6.1 Authorized Sharing

The Service may allow you to authorize sharing of certain information (“Shared Data”) with third parties you choose (“Recipients”), such as lenders, landlords, tax preparers, wealth advisors, and other service providers.

When you authorize sharing, you may be able to select:

  • The Recipient;

  • The categories of Shared Data; and

  • The scope or duration of the sharing (where available).

6.2 Delivery Channels

Sharing may occur through different technical methods (“Delivery Channels”), including:

  • In-app sharing flows;

  • Links or email-based workflows;

  • Embedded experiences (including webviews);

  • Integrations with third-party platforms (including digital wallets or partner apps);

  • APIs or other technical integrations.

Important: The Delivery Channel used does not change the fact that you are authorizing sharing to a Recipient.

6.3 Recipient Responsibility

Once you share Shared Data with a Recipient:

  • The Recipient’s handling of Shared Data is governed by the Recipient’s own terms and privacy policy; and

  • YourOwn is not responsible for how a Recipient uses or protects your Shared Data after receiving it.

You should share only with Recipients you trust and review their policies before sharing.

6.4 Revoking Sharing

You may be able to revoke future sharing permissions through the Service (depending on the Recipient and the technical setup).
Revocation does not automatically delete data already received by a Recipient. Recipients are responsible for handling Shared Data under their own terms and applicable law.

7) Third-Party Services, Offers, and Links

The Service may include links, integrations, or offers from third parties, including offers that may be sponsored or compensated. We will disclose sponsorship or compensation where required by law.

Your interactions with third parties are between you and the third party. YourOwn is not responsible for third-party products, services, content, or outcomes.

8) Fees and Subscriptions

Certain features may be offered free of charge. We may also offer paid features, premium tiers, or subscriptions.

If you purchase paid features:

  • Fees will be disclosed before purchase;

  • Payment terms and renewal rules will be shown at checkout or in the applicable subscription terms.

We may change pricing or introduce new fees, but we will provide notice as required by law.

9) Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for illegal purposes;

  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or entity;

  • Attempt to access other users’ accounts or data;

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service;

  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated methods to access the Service without our written consent;

  • Introduce malware, disrupt, or impair the Service;

  • Resell, lease, or commercially exploit the Service unless expressly authorized by YourOwn.

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you have violated these Terms.

10) Communications and Electronic Notices

By creating an Account, you consent to receive communications electronically (such as email and in-app notifications), including:

  • Security notices and authentication messages;

  • Legal notices;

  • Account and product updates.

Anti-Fraud Notice: YourOwn will never ask you for your password, verification codes, or Seed Phrase by email, text, or phone.

Marketing: Marketing messages are not a condition of using the Service. You can opt out via the unsubscribe link or by contacting info@yourownwallet.com. Opting out does not affect essential transactional/security communications.

11) Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and disclose information.

If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy regarding how we handle personal information, the Privacy Policy controls.

12) Disclaimers
12.1 No Professional Advice

The Service is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, tax, investment, or financial advice.

12.2 “As Is”

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12.3 Third-Party Content and Data Sources

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of data retrieved from Data Sources or other third parties.

12.4 Seed Phrase Disclaimer

YourOwn is not responsible for loss of access resulting from loss, compromise, or disclosure of your Seed Phrase or other recovery credentials.

13) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, YourOwn and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, YourOwn’s total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of:

  • $100, or

  • The amount you paid to YourOwn for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

14) Termination and Account Closure

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion by emailing info@yourownwallet.com from your Account email address with “CANCEL” in the subject line.

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • You violate these Terms;

  • We believe suspension is required by law or necessary for security; or

  • We discontinue the Service (in whole or part).

We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., security, dispute resolution), as described in our Privacy Policy.

15) Arbitration Agreement and Class Action Waiver

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY.

15.1 Arbitration

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its applicable rules, unless a claim qualifies for small claims court or is otherwise excluded below.

15.2 Exceptions

Either party may bring claims in small claims court if eligible. Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for misuse of intellectual property or unauthorized access to the Service.

15.3 No Class Actions

You and YourOwn agree that disputes will be brought only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding.

15.4 Location and Governing Law

Unless required otherwise by law, arbitration will take place in Delaware and Delaware law will apply, excluding conflict of laws principles.

15.5 Time Limits

Any claim must be brought within one (1) year of when it arose, unless applicable law requires a longer period.

16) Changes to the Service or These Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time.

If changes materially affect your rights, we will provide notice as required by law (for example, by email or in-app notice). Continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.

17) Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and content, is owned by YourOwn or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal use in accordance with these Terms.

18) Miscellaneous
18.1 Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of assets.

18.2 Severability

If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder will remain in effect.

18.3 Entire Agreement

These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and YourOwn regarding the Service and supersede prior agreements on this subject.

18.4 No Third-Party Beneficiaries

Except as required by law or explicitly stated, there are no third-party beneficiaries of these Terms.
